2023 ASCE New Orleans Branch Outstanding Civil Engineer Award winner

 

Congratulations to the 2023 ASCE New Orleans Branch Outstanding Civil Engineer Award winner, Benjamin Cody, PE. Mr. Cody has been an active member of ASCE since 1994. During his tenure as an ASCE New Orleans Board member from 2002 to 2011, including his presidency in 2009/2010, he led a successful letter-writing campaign to preserve State funding for UNO’s Civil Engineering program. Mr. Cody has been a member of the LCECS Steering Committee since 2010, where he served as Chair in 2011 and 2012. He also played a major role as a volunteer coordinator for the 2017 ASCE National Convention in New Orleans.

Mr. Cody has had a passion for soil since the age of 19. He is currently a Principal Engineer at Eustis Engineering, where he has played an integral role in geotech engineering and foundation design for iconic structures across New Orleans. He has worked on projects such as the WW2 museum campus, Harrah’s hotel, Tulane’s Yulman Stadium, and the safety bays on Lake Pontchartrain Causeway.

In addition to his professional achievements, Mr. Cody has volunteered for Mathcounts, the GNO Science Fair, Tulane Greenbackers, and Zeus’ Rescues.
