2023 ASCE New Orleans Branch Wall of Fame Award winner
Congratulations to the 2023 ASCE New Orleans Branch Wall of Fame Award winner, Kurt Evans, P.E. Mr. Evans has been a member of ASCE since 1977 and a Life Member since 2022. He is currently the CEO of Digital Engineering and Imaging and is celebrated for his 44 years of experience in engineering across multiple states such as LA, MS, AL, FL, and TX. During his successful career, Mr. Evans started two successful engineering firms, Digital and Southeastern Engineering, Inc. Prior to this, he served as the Operations Manager for two other prominent firms, Hartman Engineering and Glace & Radcliffe in Florida.
His technical achievements include developing new surcharge and foundation requirements for subdivisions in Kenner, designing geometric master plans and drainage solutions for the GNO Mississippi River No. 2 Bridge, and being a key contributor to the recovery of Waveland, MS after Katrina. He was instrumental in the development and management of Parishes Against Coastal Erosion (PACE), through which he supported the passage of the CIAP bill, securing $1 billion for coastal restoration. He collaborated with Senator Vitter to secure $17 million in WRDA 2007 funding for Southeast Louisiana’s infrastructure.
Outside of his professional achievements, Mr. Evans has been actively involved in various volunteer efforts, including contributions to ACEC, the East Jefferson YMCA, the Kenner Rotary Club, the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Pastoral Council, and the Holy Cross Board of Directors.
