2023 ASCE New Orleans Branch Outreach Award winner

Congratulations to the 2023 ASCE New Orleans Branch Outreach Award winner, Leah Read, P.E.

Leah is a dedicated Senior Structural Engineer at AECOM. Since 2022, she has been the New Orleans Region Coordinator for MATHCOUNTS, a fantastic math competition for grades 6-8, nurturing young minds by fostering STEM education. Leah’s efforts extend to coordinating over 30 volunteers, fundraising, and successfully running the MATHCOUNTS event that covers Orleans, St. Tammany, Jefferson, St. Bernard, Plaquemines, and Washington parishes.

Her drive for positive change doesn’t stop there – she is also an active volunteer with Nola Cans 4 Food, where she recollects cans for recycling and uses the proceeds to stock community fridges with homemade meals.
