2022 ASCE New Orleans Branch Outstanding Young Civil Engineer Award winner
Congratulations to the 2022 ASCE New Orleans Branch Outstanding Young Civil Engineer Award winner, Mr. James Williams. He has been responsible for many of the behind-the-scenes logistical tasks for the Branch for a few years now. Mr. Williams is the Branch Younger Member Chair and, in this role, he organizes Kickball League, Younger Member Forum, Community Service, and Socials. As Director-At-Large, 2021-2022 was his first year on the Board. He has now moved into the Secretary position for 2022-2023. He has been a consistent and enthusiastic volunteer with the Branch’s Outreach group as well.
Mr. Williams is a Licensed Professional Engineer in Louisiana and works as a Project Engineer at Eustis Engineering. With as much as he does for the Branch, he has also excelled professionally. Just a few of his technical accomplishments include: being published in six peer-reviewed journal articles and five conference papers, completing geotechnical engineering analysis and recommendations in support of emergency repairs to flood protection structures following Hurricane Ida, and completing geotechnical engineering to support the development of a ground improvement plan for a shipyard and adjacent bulkhead to support the construction of large marine vessels.
